Tim Burton Vs. The Book

Tim Burton's Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, March Hare, and Mouse all seem not only a little darker, but almost sad. Wonderland in general seems very depressing in Tim Burton's movie. In the book there always seemed to be happiness or insanity to cover up the real sadness that they all were feeling. But in Tim Burton's version the sadness is the main emotion and that is more prominent than the craziness.

  1. Agreed. Burton's movie is certainly an interpretation of the land Carroll built. A lot of people have some mixed feelings about the way he portrays things, but I think it's worth noting!
